I am a mother of one, a sister, a wife, a friend. I am a teacher, and a student. I am older than twenty and younger than a hundred. I have lived in the North, the South, the West and the East (although not in that order). I have a garden, but I don’t tend it. I make bread. I take pictures. I try to love people. I fail. I am seeking–not to be perfect–but just to be. I have no religion, but I have faith. Faith in the power of people to do small and miraculous things.

On my blog you will find:

  • thoughts on motherhood.
  • mania, fears,  and obsessions as they relate to being a parent.
  • my thoughts on moms in the media.

My blog is not:

  • a recipe for life—do what works, and discard the rest.
  • kind to acronym users—sorry to all the SAHMs, DHs, and LOs out there.
  • interested in promoting your website, product, or service.

I want:

  • to know how to manage guilt and embrace forgiveness.
  • to share good food, and stay up late laughing.
  • to be lazy and lounge on the beach in the shade, sand and sunlight dancing a slow samba until I fall asleep.

I am learning that:

  • taking a sh*t and giving a sh*t are of equal importance.
  • the best education is often unexpected.
  • simple joys are sometimes best.

I do not:

  • want to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop; I just want to enjoy it.
  • always play nice, but I try to be fair.
